HIGH-FREQUENCY INDUCTION PREHEATERS & PREHEATED PULLEY PREHEATERS

Proton manufactures high frequency induction preheaters, and preheated pulley preheaters.

PH Series induction preheaters precisely heat the wire or conductor prior to the extrusion process. The interface controls a high frequency power unit which applies electrical current at the optimum frequency and precise voltage, providing the exact pre-heat temperature at the desired line speed.

Precision-machined pulleys ensure an even tension is applied to the wire, reducing SRL problems in data cable applications. Low-loss pulleys are available for slow-moving products, reducing the amount of heat absorbed by the pulley and improving the efficiency and performance of the preheater. Long-life pulleys are made from a harder material, improving the longevity of the pulley when used with abrasive wire.

The PH Series features pulley diameters of 160mm, 300mm, 450mm or 600mm.

The PH interface features an LCD screen and membrane navigation pad. Digital and analogue communications make the PH Series easy to connect to PLCs (analogue input for external temperature setting, analogue output represents the current applied to the wire) and there are relay outputs for Alarm Condition, including Wire Break Detection and Over Voltage Range warnings. PH units have relay inputs for Emergency Stop and Remote Start / Stop.

The Proton PP320 preheated pulley preheater is for use with extra-fine wires at very low speeds (max speed is 50 m/min).

Proton preheaters have been supplied for several years to numerous factories around the world, notably to high-quality manufacturing facilities in Japan and Germany.
