Wire Preheating

All Proton Products ProTHERMICTM Series Preheaters:

  • Provide induction preheating of solid and stranded copper, copper-clad and aluminium wires up to 200°C (300°C for High Temperature (-HT) models) prior to insulation extrusion.
  • Improve insulation-to-wire adhesion and stripping characteristics, especially at high line speeds.
  • Are housed in rugged enclosures to survive harsh industrial environments.
  • Are controlled using a user-friendly, menu-based LCD interface display unit.
  • Are available with industry-standard communications interfaces fitted either as standard or as an option.
  • Are available in different wire diameter ranges to suit the application.
  • Are available in different power output models suitable for all budgets and line speeds.

PH160 Series
  • Preheats solid wires up to 1.7mm in diameter.
  • Preheats stranded wires up to 3mm2 in cross-sectional area.
PH300 Series
  • Preheats solid wires up to 3mm in diameter.
  • Preheats stranded wires up to 8mm2 in cross-sectional area.
PH450 Series
  • Preheats solid wires up to 4.5mm in diameter.
  • Preheats stranded wires up to 25mm2 in cross-sectional area.
ProTHERMICTM PH600 Series Wire Preheater
  • Preheats solid wires up to 6mm in diameter.
  • Preheats stranded wires up to 36mm2 in cross-sectional area.
PH300-RC Series
  • Preheats solid wires up to 2mm in diameter.
  • Preheats stranded wires up to 4.9mm2 in cross-sectional area.
  • Suitable for high line speed applications where conventional preheaters exhibit excessive pulley wear.
  • Suitable for aluminium wire applications where conventional preheaters suffer from aluminium deposition on the pulleys.
PH300-TW Series
  • Preheats solid wire pairs up to 3mm in diameter.
  • Preheats stranded wire pairs up to 8mm2 in cross-sectional area.
  • Suitable for twin core wire applications such as mains power cable and heating cable.
